Sekuoia may be a new name to most, but rest assured, this is a guy isn’t leaving the scene anytime soon! (maybe you’ll remember the work he recently did with Eloq and DJ ER DU DUM ELLER HVAD on Royksopp’s What Else Is There.) Debuting as an artist at this years Roskilde Festival, he’s a producer we’re expecting a whole lot of. Embracing a very german-inspired electronica-sound, he’s been remixing major acts as Tomas Barfod and Medina. Both remixes that have gained quite a bit of fuss. But before we move on to the 3 acts he recommends you to check out, we recommend you checking out his Medina – Addiction remix.
S O H N
I’ve actually just started listening to this guy, but his signing on 4AD caught my attention, so I figured I would give it a listen. It turned out to be a cooool descision, since his tracks are just the right combination between cool syncopated electronic beats, and singer-songer writer stuff. Love the track “the wheel”. (And after checking out this track, the Fox is now completely in love with SOHN as well.)
This guy makes loop based emotional stuff. Really looking forward to his concert, which probably will be a good combination of a hypnotic vibe, which slowly builds up for something bigger.
When Saints Go Machine
These guys are just about to release a new album, so hopefully I’ve been listening to it on repeat in time for their concert. The music is really really really well produced, and the whole sound is so unique. It’s a sound way beyond Denmark, and I expect their live-show will prove the same. Oh, yeah, and the two guys from the band, (Kenton Slash Demon) will also be performing at the festival. Thats like roskilde adding sprinkles, glazing and a cherry on top of an already delicous brownie.:)))
